"It was all too symmetrical, it clearly had a shape to it..."

Anderson Coopers 360 passes on an interview with the ex-governor of Arizona, who now says the "Phoenix Lights" were indeed a UFO. In his blog, Anderson mentions that no governor has ever admitted to a UFO sighting on camera.

Governor Jimmy Carter filed a report with NICAP on a sighting in 1969. Of course, years later he was elected President. At a book signing during his active retirement, he was asked about the report on camera. His reply: "I really don't know what happened to it, I saw one, but it just disappeared".

The internet carries a rumor about Governor Ronald Reagan flying with his pilot, Bull Paynter. Both of them see a light in the distance that appears to move erratically and defy conventional flight technology. This story has a ring of truth in some of the specific details of its telling. This, along with later speeches by President Reagan referring to world unification if we were attacked by aliens, seems to make some sense. Even when his presidential speechwriters wanted to exclude the example because of its association with ridicule, Reagan insisted to keep it in his dialog.

Adding a governor to the list of witnesses isn't that sensational these days. In addition to the two presidents, it includes generals, colonels, astronauts, pilots and police officers. Fife Symington is in good company.

Here's a video clip of his statement.
