Time is a variable, the unknown is the constant
Dick Bierman is satisfied that people can sense the future before it happens. Now, he wants to find the people who are good at it.
If I may take a minute, don't ya just hate it when someone throws around the title of "doctor" without giving any idea how it was earned? Some people get theirs from a backwater divinity school, others from mail order. I've seen a doctorate in literature claim to be master of the universe.
Our guy, Professor Bierman, works out of the Psychology Department at the University of Amsterdam. Got his doctorate in experimental physics.
In case the reader still thinks he's a lightweight, here's his list of publications and curriculum vitae.
The professor conducted a series of experiments to see if people can sense if something uncomfortable is about to happen. The subjects were shown a series of pictures while being measured for skin conductance. The graph on the right shows a blue baseline for neutral stimulus. The green shows anticipation to pictures of violence, the red is anticipation of erotica.
The effect is subliminal, the subjects find it almost impossible to articulate what happens.
Other scientists can replicate the experiment, which indicates maybe we can anticipate when a disaster is about to happen. Perhaps like September 11th. It could explain why over 70% of the seats were empty on those four flights.
