Astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell got unexpected media attention a few days ago talking about UFO's on a radio program.
The Discovery Channel wanted a follow-up, just to be certain of what the media was reporting. Of course, they got some of it wrong.
Dr Mitchell says NASA had nothing to do with his discussions and he never saw any UFO's during his flight service. What he knows of the matter comes from Roswell residents involved in the incident and an Admiral at the Pentagon. In fact, he was a 17 year old resident of Roswell in 1947.
The information he wants us to understand is "There was a UFO crash. There was an alien spacecraft".
He speaks with fairly impressive credentials: two Batchelor of Science degrees, a doctorate in aeronautical engineering, Naval pilot, lunar module pilot and sixth man to walk on the moon. He's also been awarded honorary degrees from four universities.
In the picture, Dr Mitchell checks his map as he looks for a specified crater.
