They're trying to go from novelty to reality. Here's the VentureOne, designed by an engineering firm in the Netherlands. It's gonna be sold in the US.
The Venture Vehicles company will let you have this 2 passenger hybrid for under $20k. It gets 100 miles per gallon, does 0-60 in about 6 seconds.
An automatic tilting system controls the balance while you're rounding corners. A video is available here.
Venture just received $6 million in funding, expects to have prototypes on the road in 2008 and for sale to the public in 2009.
