Indy 500 without all the noise
The Wrightspeed X1 prototype goes from zero to sixty in 3 seconds. In separate races, it beat a Ferrari and a Porsche Carrera GT. That alone is reason enough to buy the upcoming production model.
Another reason? It doesn't use ethanol, hydrogen or high octane. It uses nuthin' but electricity.
The builder, Ian Wright, is aiming for the $3 billion market by creating an ecological friendly sports car. The specs are impressive: no clutch, no shifting, top speed electronicly limited to 112mph, gets the equivalent of 170 miles per gallon.
And, the only thing you hear is the wind.
