Employment search
Jobhunters are generally put off by some of the job search engines because they want too much information, or make you tab through several pages. A new website called Indeed.com presents itself in a straightforward manner. Simply enter the job you want and the zip code to get a listing. Includes an RSS feed.

You'll probably need a screwdriver
I don't think there's much of an arguement with the idea that the United States was founded by people who made things on their own. If they couldn't make something, they had a neighbor who did. Alas, today we assign too much of that creativity to foreign shores.
Those of us with a creative bent can mosey over to Makezine. My opinion, they need to change the name. But, hey, they've got a pretty good start on hopping out of that rut and doing something different.
Some stuff that piqued my interest in the latest issue: making holiday kits for gifts, homemade strobe photography, hack a Robosapien and Chinese ingenuity. Enjoy.
The need to break out of the daily rut to create something unique and meaningful is universal and occurs often in our lives; exploration of several ways to achieve this can be found by the authors of Cracking Creativity and observing the Flow and Psyche of Discovery
