Here's the reason police shouldn't be running the country. The map represents data from 1985 to the present, showing "botched paramilitary police raids". The title is overblown because the dynamics of human behavior create the police mentality; they behave the same in every country.
While police train to be ready for anything to ferret out loathsome villains, the data is a reminder that in a police state, leaders use the tools they're trained to use - like guns, bats, arrest, interrogation, personal files and kicking in doors.
