Bowling for dollars
QuantumFog is game for most any form of sporting event, especially "cuddling". Few things can beat world class spooning with a sweetie, nuzzling her .... Waittaminnit. What are those guys doing?
Segue to a picturesque coastal town called Lyme Regis in the UK, where they have a different take on the definition of cuddling.
First, you take a dead conger eel. That's one in the picture, courtesy of our friends at Vagabond Charters in the UK. It weighs over 133 pounds. Full grown, they're about 9 feet long. Although some eels are caught by tourists, most are caught accidently in fishing nets.
Okay. Put 9 guys on little wooden boxes less than a foot square. Have 'em stand in a triangle formation, like pin balls at the bowling alley. Hang a strong rope over these fellas and tie on the eel.
Pull the eel back and slam it against the balancing act; you get points for the guys you knock down. Extra points if their head bounces off something.
In Lyme Regis, this is a team sport they've been enjoying for the past 30 years. They use the proceeds to raise money for their lifeboat operation.
Or, did. One anonymous animal rights activist apparently didn't have a problem with catching eels. But they did email a complaint about "disrespecting the dead eel" and threatened to take it to the press. This somehow spooked the politically correct, who overlooked the marketing potential of even more newspaper stories. Alas, the game is no more, much to the dismay of the yearly crowds.
