QuantumFog is still looking for answer regarding CFL's; looks like its going to take another day.
While taking my mind off the work for a few minutes, I came across some Predictions for the Year 2000. Before you run off thinking its a few years late, these were made in 1900.
Some of the predictions seemed a bit prescient for the age, making me wanna take a look at the original script. Couldn't find it, but I did find the author, John Elfreth Watkins. He was a civil engineer who passed on in 1903. Judging by a quick look at his archives, John probably knew enough to make the statements.
