Astrophysicists are perplexed by many things. Among them being the savory wiles of the opposite sex, rap music and Dark Matter.
Based on what they can see, the universe doesn't behave as expected. Kinda like watching a bobbing cork without seeing the water, much of galactic movement can only be explained by an unseen mysterious force.
So, what you're looking at here is a recent NASA picture of galaxies. By using an algorithm completely beyond the ken of rap musicians, the mysterious force is finally revealed.
The magenta cloud spanning enormous distances and surrounding many of the galaxies is the Dark Matter.
