In case ya missed it, the Phoenix spacecraft successfuly landed on Mars yesterday.

The place looks as barren as a Brazilian rainforest. The polygonal appearance of the surface is due to the yearly freeze/thaw cycle cracking the topsoil.

The craft is in place to capture some of the water-rich permafrost believed to be underground.

So far, the solar array has deployed along with the masts for the camera and weather station. Its expected to be a couple of days before the 7.7 foot robotic arm starts its testing procedure.
